There was some incredible musical talent recently at the Dinghy Dock Pub in Nanaimo with an acoustic performance by up-and-coming Victoria artist JP Maurice.

Maurice kicked off the On the Dock Acoustic Series May 6 along with Paul Cimolini and Emma Plant.

With just a guitar and his voice the soulful singer played some of the original songs that landed him in the top 20 of 2012 round of The Peak Performance Project.

The Vancouver radio station competition for original artists provides funding and mentoring to kick start the international music careers of emerging B.C. artists and when Maurice ended his show with his hit Nothing Like a Good Feeling it was easy to see why he is making such huge strides in the Canadian music scene.

Next up for the On The Dock Monday night series is Shaun Verrault of Wide Mouth Mason, May 20.  The guest artist performs at 7 p.m. and will be followed by Braeden Marshal and The Pie Eyed Pipers.

On June 3 the guest artist is Murray Atkinson of The Odds.  Check out the ferry schedule for the floating pub at: dinghydockpub.com.
