Campbell River’s own Shari Green has been named the 24th winner of the annual Surrey Board of Trade Special Achievement Award.
At the opening ceremony of the annual Surrey International Writers’ Conference Oct. 21 in Surrey, the Surrey Board of Trade presented Campbell River author Shari Green with the award, “in recognition of her work as a writer and her significant contribution to the community of writers.”
Green is the author of novels for children and teens. Her most recent book, Root Beer Candy and Other Miracles, was published by Pajama Press just this past in September.
CM Magazine calls Green’s writing “captivatingly visual, with seamless inclusions of figurative language,” and School Library Journal recommends her novel, calling it “lovely and poignant.”
Green’s next book for children will be published in May 2017.
The purpose of the Surrey Board of Trade Special Achievement Award is, “to honour writers who have made a significant achievement in their writing careers during the past year.”
