100 Mile House resident Ingrid Mapson is hitting all the right notes in a debut album that her producer calls a classic and something people are going to want to have in their music library.

The local mezzo-soprano has launched a “crowdfunding” campaign in support of the new album, Rhythms of Your Heart, on the website Indiegogo to raise money for the project.

“This has been an amazing experience and releasing an album is the next step in my music career,” Mapson says.

“I’ve put everything into making this album possible and I can’t wait to share it with you.”

Rhythms of Your Heart is almost completed and set to be released in March or early April.

Mapson is sending regular email updates and postings about the project on her Facebook page and website.

She is working with Grammy-nominated, Vancouver-based producer Daryl Bennett.

“The tunes are classic and she’s bringing her own personality to it,” Bennett says.

“She’s extremely schooled. If I ask her to do a certain thing, she nails it the first time.”

“She has an amazing voice – an amazingly pure voice.”

Mapson says she is “looking forward to sharing this album with my wonderful 100 Mile community, which has been so supportive, behind me in my journey leading up to this every step of the way.”
