Lynda Archer reads excerpts from her latest book, Tears in the Grass, June 23 at the Rotary Learning Centre at Well Read Books.
Archer’s book tells the story of Elinor, a 90-year-old First Nations woman, who is a Saskatchewan Cree artist. She is determined to find the child that was taken from her.
She was just a child herself when she was raped at the residential school she was forced to attend.
Throughout her journey, Elinor must confront her past trauma, racism, love and her culture’s survival.
Archer reads at 5 p.m. at Well Read Books, located at 19 Commercial St.
Archer’s book is available in both paperback and digital download formats.
