The work of two dozen local artists is currently on display at Parkside Art Gallery in 100 Mile House.

The Cariboo Artists’ Guild’s (CAG) 34th Annual Fine Art Show and Sale runs until Sept. 6.

This year’s theme is “Magic of Light.”

Twenty of those themed paintings, displaying a variety of different interpretations and subject matter having to do with light, are hanging near the entrance of the local gallery and can be judged by visitors.

An assortment of many more paintings by CAG artists are on display in the main showroom.

CAG, a group of established and aspiring artists dedicated to promoting arts and culture in the Cariboo, includes 48 members.

Parkside Art Gallery is located on Cedar Avenue and open Monday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 4 p.m.

Admission is by donation.

CAG Show and Sale organizers lauded the hard work of dedicated members and volunteers in hanging the numerous pieces of artwork and putting the show together for its opening reception on July 25.

The group held a children and youth’s art competition recently.

It was open to elementary school, high school and home school students in the area. The contest was judged by CAG members and the first place entrants received prizes.
