Opening Nite Theatre Society (ONTS) is holding open auditions for their Spring 2018 comedy Things My Mother Taught Me.
The auditions are set for Sunday, Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at the theatre located at 33223 Railway Ave. (across from the West Coast Express Station).
Written by Katherine DiSavino – author of the wildly popular Nana’s Naughty Knickers, which ONTS produced in 2013 – Things My Mother Taught Me is a hilarious and heart-warming story about a young couple in love and moving into their first apartment, on the wrong side of Chicago.
Things don’t go exactly as planned. The place is filthy, the furniture doesn’t fit, the building super only speaks English when convenient and the neighbourhood is crawling with thugs.
Amidst the chaos, both sets of parents show up to offer their best intended help and advice.
This family-friendly show, which promises lots of laughs and tender moments, is coming to Opening Nite Theatre March 1 to 18, 2018.
Needed for the cast are three female and four male actors, ranging in age from their early 20s to mid-60s.
The auditions are open to all community theatre performers. Those interested in helping out behind the scenes are also encouraged to attend. Be prepared to do a cold reading from the script.
A current theatre resume and recent head shot is appreciated but not essential. To register for the audition or to arrange an alternate audition date and time, email director Shannon Pedder at shannonpedder@shaw.ca.
