Following up on the successful bid for funding of more than $15,000 from the British Columbia Arts Council, the Monashee Arts Council is now on the hunt for a producer to stage a historical play script commissioned by the MAC last year.
The play, titled The Moose under Coyote Sleeping, written by local playwright and director Phil Wagner, is slated for performance locally in the fall of 2014.
“The producer of the play is critical to the flow of everything else that needs to fall into place for a successful stage production,” said Jennifer Greenwood, arts and culture program coordinator for the Monashee Arts Council. “The producer will be involved in many aspects including recruitment and supervision of technical staff, advertising and promotion, supervision of volunteer workers, and budget management.”
“Ideally we are looking for someone who has experience with theatrical productions and also has strong administrative skills,” said Greenwood. “The position of producer will be paid in the form of an honorarium thanks to the grant monies received from the BCAC.”
Anyone interested in applying for this position can contact the Monashee Arts Council at 778-473-3029.
