More Than a Meeting will feature Narnia teaser, play reading

eading of Des Lindo’s new play, A Celebration of Life,

Courtenay Little Theatre’s More Than a Meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 18 at 7:15 p.m. at the club’s Space, 1625 McPhee Avenue in Courtenay, will feature two special presentations.

The first will be a “teaser” (short scene) from CLT’s upcoming Christmas production of the musical, Narnia.

Next up will be a reading of Des Lindo’s new play,  A Celebration of Life, in which the Honourable Sarsfield O’Donohue is a disgruntled former member of the Canadian Senate. He gets together with his younger brother-in-law and two long-time friends (both in their 70s) to mourn the passing of another old friend. They have a few drinks, talk about their absent friend, and slowly begin to make critical (if somewhat humorous) remarks about each other.

A Celebration Of Life delivers the jokes and the jibes, the sorrowful admissions and the self-pitying complaints, of older men facing ‘the dying of the light’.

The public is welcome to attend.  Doors open at 7 p.m. for light refreshments.

Admission is by donation at the door to CLT’s bursary fund.  Seating is limited so come early.
