A film featuring Juliette Lewis and Jason Priestley, among other well-known actors was shot in Qualicum Beach this week.
Foreverland is about a young man named Will, played by Max Thieriot, who suffers from Cystic Fibrosis. The story surrounds the adventures of Will and Hannah, played by Laurence Leboeuf, while on a road trip to a healing shrine in Mexico.
Film unit publicist Gloria Davies said the cast and crew shot briefly in Coombs before heading to the West Coast. After shooting in Ucluelet, they did some filming in Cathedral Grove on Tuesday and then at a home near the old College Inn site in Qualicum Beach Wednesday.
The essential crew were set to fly down to Baja, Mexico this weekend where they would wrap up filming. Davies said co-writer and director of the film, Maxwell McGuire, suffers from Cystic Fibrosis.
Although it’s not an autobiographical story, she said, elements of the director’s life are wound into the film.
