Musician leads workshop

Sometimes the biggest barrier to success is ourselves.

A workshop by world-class bass player Victor Wooten aims to look at the barriers we erect to our success during a workshop Feb. 7-11 at the Haven on Gabriola Island. He will also perform in the Haven’s Wong and McKeen Phoenix Auditorium Feb. 10.

In addition to his music skills, Wooten is a teacher and the author of The Music Lesson: A Search for Spiritual Growth Through Music. The workshop is open to not just musicians, but everyone.

Wooten first made a name for himself as the bass player with Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, and through collaborations and solo projects. He won five Grammy Awards as well as Bass Player magazine’s Player of the Year title three years in a row.

For more information on the workshop or the concert, please call 1-877-247-9238, ext. 1, or e-mail registrar@haven.ca.
