My Favourite Tragedy is an Ottawa band consisting of North Easton, John-Marc Desmarais and Phil Desmarais.
They are a two weeks tour across Canada and presenting working on their second album. They had a spare week before playing at the Robson Valley Music Festival, and North (nephew of local residents Candice and Craig Little) wanted to perform in the Lakes District.
So they did a benefit gig at the Beacon Theatre with all proceeds going to the local food bank. In total about 100 people showed up and they raised close to $500. Their show was fantastic and the crowd loved them.
No stranger to the big stage, North Easton has played with artists Great Big Sea, 54-40, I Mother Earth, Wide Mouth Mason, Watchmen, Tal Bachman to name a few.
Easton has also made a few TV performances throughout his career including Canada A.M., Breakfast Television, Rogers Daytime and The Mike Bullard Show.
With intense vocal stylings comparable to Dave Matthews, Phil Collins and Cat Stevens and his dynamic acoustic flavor, listening and watching him perform is hypnotic and an experience not soon forgotten.
