Nanaimo atmospheric and post-rock band Wide Eyed performs in the Harbour City Saturday (March 11).

The up-and-coming new band takes its inspiration from groups such as Talk Talk, Pink Floyd and Radio Head. The members vocalist Max Fraser, bassist Sean Patton, drummer Paul Carpenter and synth player Chris Thompson combine hypnotic rhythms and psychedelic swells with the melodies.

The group is joined onstage by Danta DeCaro, a member of the indie band Wolf Parade. DeCaro has also enjoyed a solo career and recently released his debut EP, Kill Your Boyfriend.

Malcolm Jack will also join Wide Eyed onstage. Jack is best known for his work with the group Dada Plan. He is a Vancouver born-and-raised composer, producer and performer.

The acts perform in Nanaimo March 11 at the Cambie, located at 63 Victoria Cres. Doors open at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $7 at the door.
