The Nanaimo Pride Society has asked for a rainbow-coloured “pride walk”  in time for the Pride Parade June 12.

It’s an idea already seen in other cities like Vancouver and Victoria.

Nanaimo city council unanimously agreed to get a staff report on Pride Week, including the rainbow crosswalks and any other financial assistance that can be provided.

Pride Week events run from June 8 to 12.
