Canadian songwriters have the opportunity to compete in a national competition to see if their lyrics can garner them a $5,000 grand prize.
The first Canadian Songwriting Competition is open to Canadian citizens and residents and winners will be chosen by a panel of judges that includes Kardinal Offishall, Natalie McMaster, Donnell Leahy and others.
The entry fee is $25 and proceeds from the competition go toward FAST, Foundation for After School Talent, a charity that aims at providing grants to low-income families for extra-curricular activities.
The grand prize winner will receive $5,000 and a consultation with Peer Music, round-trip airfare anywhere in Canada and more.
