Nanaimo Theatre Group Christmas pantomime cancelled due to COVID-19

Annual Christmas production 'not possible under COVID restrictions'

The Nanaimo Theatre Group’s annual Christmas production has been cancelled due to COVID-19.

“For the past several decades, NTG has been proud to present a traditional British pantomime for Nanaimo families to enjoy during the Christmas season,” the local drama group said in a statement. “This wacky, fun-filled show involves a large cast singing and dancing which is not possible under COVID restrictions.”

The statement ended on a hopeful note, with NTG mentioning there is a “surprise in the wings” planned for this February and that “community theatre will go on.”
