Nanaimo Tidesmen Barbershop Quartets serenade sweethearts on Vancouver Island

Quartets offer singing valentines to be delivered Feb. 12-14 in Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum.

Romantics can send messages to their sweethearts for Valentine’s Day through song.

The Tidesmen Barbershop Quartets, the Notables and Fouray quartets, will visit locations throughout Nanaimo, Parksville and Qualicum and sing two love songs, deliver a rose, personalized card and take a photo of the occasion.

Only 100 singing valentines will be delivered, so people are asked to book early to ensure their loved one receives one.

The quartets will visit the sweethearts from Feb. 12-14. A singing valentine is $50.

People can book a singing valentine by calling 250-734-1806, online at www.tidesmen.com or by e-mailing valentine@tidesmen.com.

The Tidesmen is a male a cappella chorus comprised of singers from across Vancouver Island. The group sings a range of repertoires including Broadway standards, medieval hymnals, inspirational songs, rock ’n’ roll and barbershop favourites.

The group holds an annual spring show at the Port Theatre.

Tidesmen meet every Monday evening at 7 p.m at Costin Hall in Lantzville.
