New art exhibit reception tonight

The Smithers Art Gallery is hosting a reception tonight with the artists for its newest exhibition.

The new exhibition now up at Smithers Art Gallery is Weathered — Circadian – Collected, a multi-media show by long-time friends and Bulkley Valley residents Paulie Haines, Linda Stringfellow and Dorothy Giesbrecht.

Haines, Stringfellow and Giesbrecht have combined their creativity and originality in Weathered – Circadian – Collected. Their shared creative process revisits the familiar with new insight, and responds to the unfamiliar with imagination and simplicity. The result is a diverse and fascinating acrylic, oil and multi-media art show that combines realism, abstract expression and improvisation.

We invite people to join us at the opening reception this Friday from 7-9 p.m. This is a great opportunity to meet the artists and have a social evening with friends while enjoying the artwork and our tasty appetizers. Admission is always free, and everyone is welcome!

Exhibition dates: Sept. 20 – Oct. 15.

Full Artists’ Statements and biographies: available at www.smithersart.org.

Gallery Fall Hours: Tuesday-Friday 12-4p.m., Saturday 9 a.m.-1 p.m. (12-4 p.m. after Oct. 1)

This show is proudly sponsored by Canyon Contracting Co (a division of LB Paving).
