Media artist and award-winning author Adeena Karasick flies into Abbotsford from New York later this month to celebrate the closing of the bill bissett exhibit at The Reach Gallery Museum Abbotsford.

Karasick will lead Spoken Word and Bubbly on Saturday, June 28 at 12:30 p.m.

Karasick, professor of pop culture, gender and media theory at Fordham University in New York, will read from her most recent book, This Poem (Talonbooks, 2012).

She is a poet, cultural theorist, media artist and author of seven books of poetry and poetic theory.

She is also co-founding director of KlezKanada Poetry Festival and Retreat in the Laurentian Mountains, Que.

Tickets for her visit to The Reach are $10 for members and $15 for non-members.

The bill bissett exhibition is on display until June 29. Bissett, who resides in Toronto and Vancouver, is a renegade poet, author of more than 60 poetry books, and a free-spirited artist who contributed to changing the landscape of Canadian poetry in the 1960s and ‘70s.
