There are revolutions, evolutions and then there is “levelution.”
That’s the self-described process that one downtown nightclub is currently experiencing.
After countless hours of major renovations, Level Two nightclub will open its doors with a completely new look this weekend.
The renovations, which include five private booths, are all part of a process coined the “levelution” by club employees.
“The club is undergoing a huge change. We are revolutionizing the brand. We are revolutionizing the way it is run, the interior, everything,” said Level Two general manager, Brennan Hinchsliff. “Everything that you know about Level Two is changing.”
On Friday (May 1) Level Two will be throwing a grand reopening party beginning at 10 p.m. The event will feature performances by a handful DJs including DJ Gwaja.
In an effort to enhance the experience, club employees will be handing out free VIP passes for the first 20 people in line and the first 50 people in line will receive gifts.
“We want to give back to the people who have been with us for so long,” said fellow club manager, Dallas Cary.
Those who receive a VIP pass will have unrestricted access to the club for one year, according to Hinchsliff.
“You have no wait, no line, no cover, plus it allows you to bring one guest,” Hinchsliff said.
In addition to a completely new layout, enhanced sound and lighting, Level Two will begin to offer craft beer and bottle service packages.
“We aim to bring the most energy as possible into a room,” Hinchsliff said. “We are going to have the best lights and the best sound in the Harbour City.”
Level Two, which is under new management, opened roughly six years ago.
Hinchsliff and Cary both said that the downtown venue was starting to show its age on the inside.
“The room has taken a beating,” Cary said.
“Lots of people have partied hard and so it is time to fix the holes, patch up the walls and add an exciting feel to it,” Hinchsliff added.
According to the managers, the new vision for Level Two is to provide patrons with a lounge experience as well as a nightclub feel.
“We are trying to find the balance between comfort and high energy and I think we have finally found that,” Hinchsliff said.
The Level Two grand reopening party takes place on Friday and Saturday between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. at 170 Skinner St. There is no cover before 11 p.m. Admission with two pieces of government issued identification.
