North Okanagan artists reveal Myths and Truths

North Okanagan chapter of the Canadian Federation of Artists host juried exhibition in the Performing Arts Centre's Coatcheck Gallery.

Members of the North Okanagan chapter of the Canadian Federation of Artists have just opened their juried exhibition in the Coatcheck Gallery at the Vernon Performing Arts Centre.

Entitled Myths and Truths, the exhibition features both abstract and representational pieces by chapter members.

“Myths can be visual stories, paintings that tell a tale in an abstract or non-representational way, (while)  truth(s) is that which conforms to reality, fact, or actuality, paintings that depict realism, people, places and things that exist and are tangible,” reads a statement about the show.

Joyce Upex’s The Old Sentinel was selected as jurors’ choice for the exhibition.

Myths and Truths opens with a reception at the Coatcheck Gallery, located in the lower lobby of the Performing Arts Centre, Monday from 4:30 to 6 p.m., where the public can enjoy refreshments and meet the artists. The show is on view until July 6 during performances at the centre.
