Get ready to be Abracadazzled. Illustrious Canadian illusionist John Kaplan is bringing his family-friendly magic show to Parksville next week with a blend of magic, comedy, contemporary music, dance and special effects.
Kaplan has been performing magic across Canada for over 30 years, delighting kids and raising money for local organizations, like the Parksville Lions Club.
Lions member Wax Williams said the funds raised will go toward upgrading the Lions Ventureland Playground at the Parksville Community Park. Recently the Ventureland sign was heavily vandalized, Williams said, making funds to fix it much needed.
“It’s a costly sign that now has to be replaced so the need for us to raise money for the park is now paramount,” he said.
The show in Parksville, called Abraca DAZZLE! will be 90 minutes long and include an appearance from A News weather host Bruce Williams.
“He has agreed to stick his neck out for the Lions and he will be putting his head under the guillotine on stage,” said Williams.
The multimedia show happens at the Parksville Community and Conference Centre on Friday, April 1 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 for adults, $8 for children, available from Cranky Dog Music in Parksville or at the door. For more information on John Kaplan and his show visit www.abracadazzle.ca.
