Okanagan Screen Arts Society is pleased to present The Wife at the Vernon Towne Cinema on Monday, Jan. 28. Staring Golden Globe winner, Glenn Close as Joan Castleman who portrays the wife (the greater woman behind the great man) who questions her life choices as she travels to Stockholm with her husband, Joe (Jonathan Pryce), where he is to receive the Nobel Prize for Literature. Also starring Christian Slater as Nathaniel Bone.

Joan is a very intelligent, beautiful and devoted wife who sacrificed her own talents, dreams and ambitions for forty years in order to support her husband, Joe, in his rising literary career. In so doing, she ignores his many infidelities and excuses with grace and humour, though she reaches her breaking point when she is fed up with the compromises she has made. On the eve of Joe’s Nobel Prize for Literature, Joan confronts the biggest sacrifice of her life and the most well-kept secret of his career.
