The second half of The Met: Live in HD season begins Saturday, Jan. 16 at Cineplex Langley with the screening of Les Pêcheurs de Perles (The Pearl Fishers), as it is performed at the Metropolitan Opera Theatre in New York City.
Featuring Diana Damrau as the beautiful heroine of Bizet’s sumptuous opera, this French tale of lust and longing is set in the Far East where a beautiful Hindu priestess is pursued by rival pearl divers competing for her hand.
Encore shows are being screened at Cineplex on Feb. 20, 22 and 24.
