Opera in the Park returns

Opera in the Park has paired with the North Okanagan Hospice Society with the goal of raising $5,000

Opera in the Park has paired with the North Okanagan Hospice Society with the goal of raising $5,000.

Paul Moore’s annual Opera in The Park returns July 9 from 6-8 p.m. under the beautiful Okanagan evening summer skies at Polson Park.

The talented Graham Vink will be accompanying Moore on the piano.

The event features arias from famous operas such as Mozart’s The Magic Flute, andPuccini’s Tosca as well as famous popular music from artists like Josh Grobin and Andrea Bocelli. Moore transports the audience to the amazing world of opera with his powerful and emotion evoking lyric voice. Along with his easy going, humorous interplay on stage with Vink, they will entertain and amuse and hope to put a smile on your face.

“Opera in the Park symbolizes the free spirit of beautiful music with nature,” Moore said. “Bring your picnic blanket, lawn chair, and a few snacks and, of course, a donation for the hospice society. Enjoy the garden party atmosphere.”

Moore is also one of the Dancing With The Vernon Stars couples with his partner Denise Brown. The gala event is September 29 at the Vernon Lodge. Dancing with Vernon Stars, under the organization of Shirley Higgins, is a fundraiser for the North Okanagan Hospice Society.

The hospice society could not function without its many volunteers and support.

“By attending Opera In The Park or the Gala Event, you will be supporting this respected service in our community.” Moore said.

Moore recommends a $5 donation per person. Tax receipts available at the concert.
