A choir made up of orphans from Africa will be returning to Canada with a performance at Christian Life Assembly.
The Watoto Children’s Choirs, made up of children who have lost one or both of their parents, have been traveling the world since 1994.
The production called Oh What Love! will be performed at venues across Canada until July.
Each of the children in the choir live at one of three Watoto villages in Uganda that were founded by Watoto Church through their Watoto Child Care Ministries. The ministries are described as an international holistic care program for orphaned and vulnerable women and children that provide physical care, medical intervention including HIV/AIDS treatment, education, counseling and moral and spiritual discipleship.
The villages each contain a nursery, kindergarten, primary and high school, water project, medical clinic and multi-purpose hall for use as a church and community centre.
There are 3,000 children being looked after in the three villages.
The choirs have performed at the White House, Buckingham Palace and also at the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Pageant in England.
The concert takes place on Sunday at 7 p.m. at Christian Life Assembly, 11756 232 Street in Maple Ridge.
