Festival Society representatives said the lantern launch has only grown in popularity year after year.
“If you have not taken part before in either the building or the launch, we highly encourage it,” the release from the Festival Society reads.
The Monday launch takes place under a covered shelter at the intersection of Mary and Esplanade not far from Muddy Waters. Don’t forget your lantern.
Ernie Eaves and his team will later collect the lanterns on the north side of the lagoon after they make their way across, and they will be available for pickup the next week at Ranger Station Art Gallery. Registration for this event is also available online or by calling 604-796-3664.
