Everyone’s favourite tubby panda is featured in the third film in Surrey’s Movies Under the Stars hits the big screen this Saturday (Aug. 17).
The animated comedy Kung Fu Panda 2 features Po and his friends as they fight to stop a peacock villain from conquering China.
The movie starts at dusk in Holland Park (King George Boulevard and Old Yale Road), but as usual, everyone is invited to come early. Entertainment and family activities start at 5 p.m. and the North Surrey Lions Club will once again host a barbecue, with proceeds benefiting local charities.
Moviegoers are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs and blankets, and can enter to win tickets to see Dora the Explorer at the Bell Performing Arts Centre in October.
The movie scheduled for Aug. 24 is The Croods, and Bollywood Under the Stars is slated for Aug. 31.
The films are presented by Prospera Credit Union and Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association. Donations to the Surrey Christmas Bureau will also be accepted on site.
