Penticton Beer Run goes another round

The fun run includes eight local beer tastings, food and fun on Oct. 16

If you didn’t get in on the Penticton Beer Run in June, you have a second chance to sip, run and have fun on Oct. 16.

Hoodoo Adventures is once again hosting the 10 km beer run which includes eight tastings from eight local breweries along a stunning course.

The beer run will include tasting from Cannery Brewery, Bad Tattoo, Tin Whistle, Barley Mill, Highway 97, Neighbourhood, Slackwater and Firehall Brewery.

Most participants over the years of the Beer Run have dressed up in elaborate costumes.

The start of the run will be at Highway 97 Brewery as well as your first taste of the local micro-brew scene in Penticton. From there you will run or walk down to Lakeshore Drive following Penticton’s Ale Trail and down the KVR past seven breweries and three eateries before finishing with live music, more beer and great eats at D’Angelo Estate Winery.

Partial proceeds from the Beer Runs are donated annually to the Youth Outdoor Recreation Society (Y.O.R.S), a not-for-profit that supports getting local youth active in the outdoors, promoting healthy lifestyles and mental health through outdoor recreation opportunities.

The runs take plenty of work from organizer Hoodoo Adventures and the breweries, as well as with Interior Health to ensure the event could go forward safely.
