Penticton is one of six finalists in the Coors Banquet One Horse Town contest.

The winning town will have the opportunity to host a country music concert featuring multi-platinum Grammy-winning superstar Darius Rucker, 2017 ACM New Male Vocalist Award winner Jon Pardi, three-time reigning CCMA Female Artist of The Year and 2017 JUNO Award winner Jess Moskaluke and hot newcomers the James Barker Band.

Selected from thousands of nominations by Canadians, organizers said each of the six finalists reflect the hardworking nature and pride of small towns across Canada. The six towns will compete in a round of fan voting to select the 2017 Coors Banquet One Horse Town.

“Through all the amazing entries in the first round of this year’s One Horse Town contest, it was clear to see the passion Canadians have for their hometowns,” said Chris Waldock, senior marketing director, Coors. “Each year we see more and more Canadians sharing some big love for their small town. Nominations jumped this year, with over 2,500 heartfelt submissions from across the country enter the contest, submit photos, and really show pride in where they’re from.”
