After two years of closed curtains, Penticton’s Tempest Theatre is ready to enter stage left once again.
Tempest’s first show back from a COVID-19 forced shutdown is What.A.Mess., an ancient Greek-inspired play with a modern twist.
What.A.Mess. is written by the Company, co-directed by Kate Twa, Denise Kenney and Edward Foy and features talent from Montreal, Vancouver and across the Okanagan.
Alongside Tempest’s return to the stage, new features and upgrades have been in the works since shutting down last year, including a fresh coat of paint and an outdoor patio space with an entry awning coming later in the year.
Tempest’s managing director Jennifer Vincent expressed her excitement about the changes and reopening.
“This is a building that is part of the downtown landscape with a long heritage in the community,” said Vincent.
The Tempest Theatre & Film Society launched in 2018 and provides professional actor training, live performances and special events.
You can catch What.A.Mess. starting Aug. 17 and running for five nights. Tickets start at $25 and are available on tempest’s website. The Tempest Theatre is located at 125 Eckhardt Ave E in Penticton.
