Artist and Langley Arts Council member Gabrielle Strauss announced the winners of the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artist’s “Celebrating Creativity” show.
The exhibition will showcase works from the Fraser Valley Chapter of the Federation of Canadian Artists. The chapter consists of a group of artists residing in the Fraser Valley, all of whom are members of the Federation.
The chapter is an independent group operating under the guidelines and standards set by the Federation.
‘Celebrating Creativity’ is a juried exhibition. Members submit works to the FCA for jurying. Jurying is done by three artists who have attained signature status in the Federation.
The jurors select the works they deem most worthy to be part of the exhibition. They also select the pieces to be awarded first place, second place, third place, as well as three honourable mentions.
Members reside all over the Fraser Valley.
The artwork showcased on the exhibition poster is by artist Gwen Murphy, a resident of Aldergrove.
First place went to Lynn C. Sykes for “Spring Magnolias,” second place to Jackie Versfelt for “Evening in New York,” and third to Sheila Van Delft for “Two Cedars by the Well House.”
Honorable mentions include Jean Abbot for “A Cool Retreat,” Gwen Murphy for “Fall Flair,” and Veronica Newell for “Beach Memories.”
