Poets read at Kelowna library

Join the Okanagan Regional Library for a summer evening of poetry with Vancouver poet Daniela Elza, who will be reading from her debut collection of poetry the weight of dew, and Kelowna poet and UBC MFA graduate Portia Priegert who will read recent poems on Monday, June 4, 7 p.m. at the Kelowna Branch, Okanagan Regional Library, 1380 Ellis Street, Kelowna, 250-762-2800.

Daniela Elza has lived on three continents and crossed numerous geographic, cultural and semantic borders. In 2011 Daniela received her doctorate in Philosophy of Education from Simon Fraser University and launched her first e-Book, The Book of It. Daniela’s poetry collection the weight of dew is published by Mother Tongue Publishing (2012). Her second book is forthcoming with Leaf Press in 2013.

Portia Priegert is a well-known visual artist and journalist in Kelowna.  She recently completed a collection of poetry for her MFA thesis entitled Reign of Embers.
