The Courtenay Branch of the Vancouver Island Regional Library will host popular children’s author/illustrator Marie-Louise Gay on Monday at 10:30 a.m.
Gay is a well-known, award-winning author of such favourites as Stella of the Sea, Rainy Day Magic, Moonbeam On A Cat’s Ear and Yuck, A Love Story.
She has created more than 60 books for children.
Her Stella and Sam books have been translated into 15 languages. They have sold more than one million copies and are loved by children all over the world.
She has won numerous awards for her work, including two Governor General’s Awards.
Recently, Gay won the Canadian Library Association’s 2011 Amelia Frances Howard-Gibbon Illustrator’s Award for Roslyn Rutabaga and the Biggest Hole on Earth!
This is one of a series of public readings held as part of BookFest, Vancouver Island Children’s Book Festival in Nanaimo. This year BookFest is celebrating its 25th anniversary.
This reading is sponsored by the Canada Council for the Arts and is open to all.
