Mark your calendars, Wet Ape Productions announced last week that Monster Energy Center of Gravity will return to Kelowna’s shores next year, despite previous concerns it would be axed.
The eighth year of the sports and music festival which will run in City Park July 24 to 26, will see a number of changes, predominantly the addition of a new partnership with Canadian festival producers Union Events.
With offices in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto, Union Events have an extensive background in concert and festival productions.
While the Center of Gravity show will go on, Wet Ape’s Keloha Music & Arts Festival will not be returning in 2015 on its own weekend.
Components of the indie/alternative rock and arts festival will be integrated into MECOG providing audiences with what organizers call a festival experience that brings the top artists from all genres to Kelowna.
Wet Ape and Union Events expect to draw in broader audiences and continue to expand on the festival’s popularity.
Festival director, Scott Emslie, is excited about the upcoming year.
“We’ve put some key pieces in place that will be the foundation for one of the greatest festival experiences in Western Canada. Partnering up with a live entertainment powerhouse like Union Events is very exciting for us and there is a very bright future for the festival.”
Ticketing and lineup info will be released in early 2015.
