Nanaimo’s Port Theatre has expanded services available to patrons.
“We are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment, by removing barriers and increasing access to live theatre for all audiences. This provides a spectacular theatre-going experience for all of our patrons,” said Bruce Halliday, general manager of the Port Theatre, in a press release.
New services include: improved hearing assistance devices, bariatric chairs, improved bar service and audience services counter improvements.
The bar service improvements include a selection of international wines that are available by the glass or the bottle. Patrons can purchase a bottle and have it waiting for them at intermission and take it home with them after the show.
Improvements to the services counter make it a one-stop shop, according to the press release, for coffee, tea, non-alcoholic beverages and ice cream. The counter is now in a more centralized area for quicker and easier access for patrons.
