The choir has a busy local schedule and also tours annually to smaller communities in British Columbia, giving concerts and workshops for community and school groups.

The local workshop and concert will be held at the 100 Mile House United Church at 49 Dogwood Ave.

Everyone is invited to the workshop, which has a $15 fee, and goes from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., while the concert starts at 7 p.m. and admission is by donation.

The choir’s performance invitations have included the Kelowna Philharmonic Society’s summer series, the Nelson Arts Festival, and the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors’ national convention in Quebec. The choir has toured in Europe nine times since 1998 and will tour Spain in June 2017.

The Capilano University Singers is led by Lars Kaario who has built an impressive reputation as a conductor, singer and educator in his native Vancouver.

His great love and commitment toward the choral arts are evident in his special abilities to inspire his singers/instrumentalists, and effectively communicate the enjoyment and subtleties of music to his audiences.

Kaario is an ardent supporter of young musicians and composers and regularly commissions new works.
