Resort undergoes Halloween makeover

Oceanside Village Resort staff gets into character for annual Pumpkin Walk; Foster Park marks 20 years of Halloween hijinks

They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky. Come meet the staff at Oceanside Village Resort each evening between Oct. 29-Nov. 1 and enjoy a little Halloween hospitality, Addams Family style.

Like Cinderella’s coach at midnight, the resort will turn into a pumpkin patch each evening from 6-8 p.m. More than 140 fully lit pumpkins will be on display to the public as part of the resort community’s annual pumpkin patch walk or drive, and additional decorations will mark the season in Oceanside Village’s garden and office.

Resort staff typically costume themselves in a theme, as they did last Halloween when they portrayed characters from the Village People. This time, they’ll be the Addams Family.

Visitors are invited into the resort for kids’ treats, hot chocolate and a warm fireplace nightly.

Foster Park fun

The Friends of Foster Park invites everyone to the 20th annual Pumpkin Walk Halloween night at the community Park.

Hike the wooded pumpkin trails, enjoy a hot dog and hot chocolate, and for the kids goodie bags will be available. Bring your own pumpkin to add to the trail — the more, the scarier. The event, which began following the park’s commemoration in 1996, begins at 7 p.m.
