With just a jump to the left and a step to the right Nanaimo revelers are going to do the time warp this Halloween.

When the munchkins and ghouls have all gone to bed after stuffing their stomachs with treats the adults can come out to play at Schmooze Productions’ The Rocky Horror Halloween Bash.

“It’s an adult-only event. It’s for when the kids have gone to the babysitter or to bed,” said Dean Chadwick, artistic director of Schmooze Productions. “We are going to have some fun for ourselves.”

Chadwick said Schmooze members looked at having another live performance of Rocky Horror but felt it was too soon after holding the last one. Luckily the organization was able to secure the rights to show the film for Halloween, “which was no small feat on its own,” said Chadwick.

The bash, held at Harbour City Theatre, located at 25 Victoria Rd., Saturday (Oct. 31), features performances by The Femme Fatales and Vesta Fire and Miss Vikki Smudge as emcee. Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The dance party begins at 7:45 p.m. and the film is at 9 p.m.

People are encouraged to dress up as their favourite Rocky Horror character or can attend in a different costume. Prizes will be awarded for costumes. People are invited to sing-along. No food or open flame is allowed.

Tickets in advance are $25, $80 for a bundle of four or $30 at the door, available at Catwalk Fashions or www.schmoozeproductions.com.

Attendees must be 19 or older.
