A budding artist from Maple Ridge will see her work printed in Celebrating Art, an anthology featuring paintings by students from across Canada and the United States.

Alice Yu Xin Liu’s painting “Home Sweet Home” was selected from thousands of entries as one of the ten best in her grade division.

Art pieces were selected for their creativity, originality, self-expression, craftsmanship and skill.

A student of Meadowridge School, Liu attends Polyart Studio and is heading to Grade 7 when school begins in September.

CelebratingArt.com sponsors the annual contest to offer a creative outlet that honours youth. The contest is open to students from kindergarten to Grade 12.

The top ten artists in each division receive special recognition in an art anthology.

“Too often the efforts of young artists are unrecognized and they lose their motivation to express themselves,” says Tom Worthen with CelebratingArt.com.

The website has awarded over $30,000 to students and teacher since 2010.

The upcoming contest deadline is Aug. 22. To enter, visit celebratingart.com.
