Rock ‘n’ roll band performs in Nanaimo at the Cambie

NANAIMO - For on the Floor performs rock music at Nanaimo's Cambie on Friday (Aug. 12).

For on the Floor will heat up the Cambie with rock music Friday (Aug. 12).

The band plays at 10 p.m.; admission is $6.

For on the Floor formed in 2015. Group members Dave Hendrickson, guitar and vocals; Jordan Becker, drums and vocals; James Van Weerden, bass and vocals met at Vancouver Island University, where all three members were studying music. The fourth member Peter Leclerc, on guitar and vocals, hails from Qualicum Beach.

Hendrickson said the group members pull from a wide range of styles including jazz, Latin, blues and theatrical rock.

“There is a lot of guitar orientated rock ’n’ roll,” he said.

For on the Floor also performs at the Wheatsheaf Pub in Cedar on Saturday (Aug. 13) at 8:30 p.m.
