Mission’s Rockin’ River Music Festival has announced this week that Big and Rich will be one of the three-day celebration’s headline acts next summer.
Billed “America’s Technicolor Cowboys,” John Rich and Big Kenny Alphin will be among the biggest names at the 2013 event, set to go Aug. 15-17.
“We’re all very excited to have Big and Rich at the fifth annual Rockin’ River festival,” concert organizer Kenny Hess said. “Big and Rich is one of the most entertaining acts in the country scene, and they’ll put on a great show at the raceway next summer.”
Big and Rich’s hit song Save a Horse, Ride a Cowboy, topped charts in a variety of music genres in 2004, and their most-recent album Hillbilly Jedi, the duo’s first release since 2007, has been widely acclaimed.
Rockin’ River Music Festival takes place at Mission Raceway Park (32670 Dyke Rd.) and will feature some of Canada’s best country talent. The rest of the 2013 lineup will be announced in the months to come.
“We really want next year’s Rockin’ River show to continue with the growth in popularity it has enjoyed through its five-year history,” said Hess.
