NANAIMO - The 17th Annual Symphony of Roses Day is March 16 in Nanaimo.

People can give the gift of joy to others and support a good cause by sending roses during the 17th annual Symphony of Roses Day.

“I call it a happy fundraiser,” said Marianne Turley, who co-owns Turley’s Florist with her husband Jim.

The two provide the roses and delivery for the annual Vancouver Island Symphony fundraiser.

“We have a very large number of really dedicated volunteers and we couldn’t do it without them,” said Turley.

Margot Holmes, executive director for the symphony, said the fundraiser is unique.

“People love it. It’s just a happy day in Nanaimo,” she said. “It’s a gift to us as well.”

Symphony of Roses Day is March 16. People can pick up the roses or have them delivered by volunteers.

A box of 12 is $32 and a box of 24 is $62. Orders must be placed by Friday (March 11) at 4 p.m. To make an order, please call 250-754-6344, go to www.vancouverislandsymphony.com or visit Turley’s Florist.
