The Kelowna and District Safety Council’s Halloween Haunt is back.
Now in its eighth year, this popular annual event has become a staple of the Halloween season in Kelowna.
A cauldron of fun for the whole family, the event will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, from noon to 3 p.m., at the Little Travelers’ Safety Village, 395 Hartman Rd.
Sponsored by Western Financial Group, the event will feature a variety of ghoulish games, activities, and crafts that will be set up at stations around the Safety Village and inside the classroom.
“Halloween is one of the most exciting nights of the year for kids,” said Tania Meyer, executive director of the Kelowna and District Safety Council.
“The Halloween Haunt provides a safe alternative for families to celebrate Halloween together, and this event has become a family favorite. We have sold out every year, and we usually have a lot of disappointed parents calling for tickets just before the event. So, we’re encouraging people to get their tickets as early as possible this year.”
Some favourite activities from previous Haunts, like the Mummy Wrap and Fear Factor, will be returning, and some new activities and crafts have been added to keep the event fresh.
In keeping with the Halloween theme, Scott Alexander, a local naturalist and environmental educator, will be returning with several of his slithering serpents. Children and adults will be able to touch and hold the scaly reptiles as he teaches them about snake safety and handling.
Pizza and juice will be available to all attendees, and all children will receive a Halloween treat bag filled with goodies and a Halloween safety tip sheet.
Tickets are $4/person. As this event is expected to sell out again, be sure to get your tickets early.
