Juno nominated soul/folk artist Scotty Hills makes his debut at Studio Live on June 2 at 8 p.m.

In the months leading up to his new release Nature Girl, Hills’ diverse inspiration lead him by train to Detroit, where he wrote with Motown Legends, to song camps in Los Angeles, writing pop for Rihanna.

For a decade, Hills toured the world as a drummer, playing his “first love” music; Chicago blues.

He has backed iconic bluesmen such as Hubert Sumlin, Jody Williams, Downchild, The Perpetrators, Big Dave Mclean and has opened for Los Lobos, Chuck Berry, Taj Mahal, and more.

Hills’ original sound is mellow and soulful, and he keeps his love of the blues in his sound.

The intimate vibe and great acoustics of Studio Live will perfectly compliment the seasoned performance that Hills puts on.

Advance tickets are $15, available at Bop City Records, Courtenay, Church Street Bakery, Comox and Rider’s Pizza, Cumberland.
