VANCOUVER –– Variety – The Children’s Charity is once again conducting a province-wide search for talented young artists.
B.C. residents between the ages of 13 and 29 are invited to submit an audition video to www.varietysgottalent.ca between Jan. 2 and 15.
Audition videos should be two-to-three minutes long, singing a cappella or with acoustic guitar. Music industry professionals will narrow down the entries to 10 finalists from across the province to perform in the Variety’s Got Talent Finals Feb. 3.
Variety’s Got Talent is the only B.C. talent search to accept online submissions.
An exciting new addition this year is the People’s Choice competition. The public will be able to view the Top 20 auditions on YouTube between Jan. 23 to 27 and vote for their favourite. The competitor with the most votes will win a spot in the Variety’s Got Talent Finals.
The Top 10 finalists and the People’s Choice winner will be brought to Vancouver to perform before a live audience at the River Rock Show Theatre.
The winner, selected by a panel of celebrity and industry judges, including music manager Bruce Allen, Global BC’s Steve Darling, Spirit of the West’s Vince Ditrich and 100.5 The Peak’s Tamara Stanners, will receive a Tom Lee Rising Star Package and appear on the Variety Show of Hearts Telethon which airs live on Global BC Feb. 11 and 12.
Last year’s winner, Shylo Sharity of Fort Langley, has been performing steadily and even opened for country music legend Wynonna Judd.
Tickets for the Variety’s Got Talent Finals Feb. 3 are $15 and will be available from Jan. 2 at www.varietysgottalent.ca.
