Second Stage Players present Scattered Skits

Wednesday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. and Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m.

The Second Stage Players, an Evergreen Club drama group, is presenting ‘Scattered Skits’ on April 27 and April 28.  Betty Annand, author of ‘Voices From Courtenay Past,’ decided to resurrect an annual Bickle Theatre tradition.

Sid Williams and Bill Stubbs used to invite local service clubs to put on humorous skits. The audiences would vote on their favourite skit and Betty, a young audience member at the time, remembers the evening to be a “real hoot” with much laughter and fun. Betty has a knack for always having her finger on the laugh button. She has chosen some funny skits to provide an afternoon or evening performance that will delight audience members.  Twenty actors, under Betty’s direction, will present 12 different skits, guaranteed to make you smile.

Join the Second Stage Players in the upper Conference Hall of Courtenay Recreation’s Florence Filberg Centre on Wednesday, April 27 at 1:30 p.m. (doors open at 1) or on Thursday, April 28 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30). Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Filberg office during business hours or at the door. Light refreshments included. FMI call 250-338-1000.
