"We are very excited to have live classical music back onstage at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre"

There’s going to be live music at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre on Friday, July 23, and yes, you can be there in person.

Tickets are on sale now for the performance, which will feature the Vancouver Island Symphony Back Row Brass Quintet.

Starting at 7 p.m. the quintet will regale the audience with everything from nostalgic Canadiana to classic Disney, Broadway musicals and the Beatles.

“We are very excited to have live classical music back onstage at the Cowichan Performing Arts Centre,” says CPAC manager Kirsten Schrader, who is also the CVRD Arts and Culture Division manager.

“The Vancouver Island Symphony brass players featured in this exciting concert have prepared a wonderful evening of wonderful music to welcome audiences back into the world of live performances.”

The quintet is made up of trumpet players Stevan Paranosic and Mark D’Angelo, Karen Hough on horn, Scott MacInnes on trombone, and Nick Atkinson on tuba.

Tickets are $49.50 each, or $133.50 for a three-concert series including String Quartet and Horn on Aug. 6 at 7 p.m., and the Marco Paolo Trio on Aug. 20 at 7 p.m.

Tickets are available at cowichanpac.ca or by calling 250-746-2722.
