Sept. 12 to Oct. 26 – Earthscapes features work by two artists and is on display in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre Sept. 12 to Oct. 26. Art by Debbie Weismiller, an abstract artist, and Patricia Tessier, a photographer. Opening reception is Sept. 14 from 1 to 3 p.m. Gallery hour are Wednesdays to Saturdays from noon to 5 p.m.

Sept. 13/17/18 – The Chilliwack Cultural Centre is offering free technical experience workshops for anyone interested in becoming a technical volunteer. Sept. 13 is the Fly System Workshop, Sept. 17 is the Stage Lighting Workshop, and Sept. 18 is the Sound Stage Workshop. Sept. 13/14 – Cheek to Cheek performs Friday and Saturday at the Royal Canadian Legion Vedder Golden Branch 280 (5661 Vedder Rd.).

Sept. 16 – Sign up now for pottery classes at the Cultural Centre. The Youth Hand Building class (age 9-12) and Beginner’s Hand Building class (for adults) both start today and run for eight sessions over 10 weeks. Sept. 18 – The Chilliwack Arts Council is offering a four-week Bollywood Dance Class on Wednesdays (Sept. 18, 18, 25, Oct. 2, 9) from 6 to 7 p.m. at G.W. Graham school (45955 Thomas Rd.). Cost is $40 (members) or $60 (non-members). Call 604-769-ARTS (2787) to register (must register by Sept. 16).

Sept. 19 – U2 tribute band, U4, performs tonight at the Cultural Centre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets $27.50 (plus service charges) and available at the centre’s box office, or by phone 604-391-SHOW (7469) or online at www.chilliwackculturalcentre.ca.

Now to Oct. 2 – The Eco Market runs every Wednesday evening (4 to 8 p.m.) at Sardis Park from now to Oct. 2. The market features local artists, live music, fresh food and more. The market’s juried artisans offer works in a variety of media including glass, textiles and fibre arts, wood, ceramics, jewelry, painting, drawing, photography, basketry, recycled and mixed media and metalwork. All work is handmade by the artist who is on site.

The Chilliwack Arts & Cultural Centre Society is in need of volunteers to help out with current and future art classes being offered at the Cultural Centre. For more info, call 604-391-SHOW (7469).
