A list of entertaining events in Chilliwack for April 5 to 11

Now to April 20 – Art exhibit, Drawing the Line, Shaping the Clay, is on display in the Art Gallery at the Cultural Centre until April 20. The show is an exhibition of pen-and-ink drawings by Heinz Klassen and ceramics by Ted Driediger. Free admission. Gallery hours: Wednesdays to Saturdays, noon to 5 p.m.

Now to May 30 – Cornerstone Framing and Gallery (46085 First Ave.) is having a spring-themed art exhibition, In Bloom, featuring the floral paintings of six artists in a variety of mediums. The show runs April 2 to May 30. 604-392-2273. Open Tuesdays to Saturdays.

Now to May 31 – The Chilliwack Museum Chambers Gallery is calling artists for its 2014 Call for Entry. Solo, partnered or grouped exhibitions are welcome to apply. The deadline is May 31, 2013. Please submit 5” x 7” photos, or DVD, or memory stick (PowerPoint or Word doc.) in any medium, a biography, an artist statement, 20/30 examples required. How to Enter: pick up an application form at the Chilliwack Museum (45820 Spadina Ave.), or download the application form found on the Chilliwack Museum website at www.chilliwackmuseum.ca.

April 3-5 – The Graham Theatre Department presents its annual Children’s Theatre Project, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, to the stage April 3-6. The show runs April 3-5 at 7 p.m. with a special family matinee on Saturday, April 6 at 2 p.m. Tickets $5/children and $7/adults, and for every family that comes to the show one child will get in free of charge. Tickets on sale at the G.W. Graham office, at the door, and at the Sardis Save-on-Foods.

April 5/6 – The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 280 (5661 Vedder Rd.) has live music Friday and Saturday. This weekend’s band is Sugar Leaf.

April 5-7 – Secondary Characters is holding auditions for its production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat April 5-7, for production in July/August at the UFV Theatre. Auditions take place on the evenings of April 5 and 6, and the afternoon of April 7. April 10 – Chilliwack Community Arts Council presents its annual spring International Film Series from April 3 to May 8. Films take place Wednesdays evenings at 7 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cottonwood 4 Cinemas (45380 Luckakuck Way). Tickets $6 per person at the door.
