Aug. 2 to Sept. 13 – Diane White’s solo exhibition, H2O Under Attack, is at the Art Gallery in the Cultural Centre Aug. 2 to Sept. 13. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday, and 6 to 8 p.m. on show evenings.

Aug. 8 – Chilliwack School of Performing Arts will be holding a princess party with princesses such as Rapunzel, Elsa, and more! There will be pictures taken with Queen Elsa, princess lessons, princess makeup, and ending our night with the movie Frozen and popcorn. Register online at www.csopa.ca for ages 4+. $25.

Aug. 8 to 10 – Chilliwack’s Spirit of the People Powwow runs Aug. 8 to 10 at Tzeachten Sports Field. Grand Entry times are 7 p.m. Friday, 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, and noon on Sunday. The event includes a traditional salmon barbecue, crafts, food, costumes, drumming and dancing. Admission $2 per day, or $5 for the weekend. Aug. 9 to Sept. 26. – Photographer and writer Margaret Evans presents an exploration of the 50-million year evolution of horses in North America with her solo exhibition Horses From the Mists of Time at the Chilliwack Museum Aug. 9 to Sept. 26. Opening reception is Aug. 9 from noon to 2 p.m. Admission free on opening day. Regular admission: $3/adults and $2/seniors and students.

Aug. 13 – Music and More takes place every Wednesday evening from July 2 to Aug. 27 featuring music, entertainment, arts and crafts, theatre and more at both the Chilliwack Library (5-7 p.m.) and the Sardis Library (4-6 p.m.) on alternating Wednesdays. Tonight’s event is at the Chilliwack Library and features the Chilliwack Museum and Archives, Uke Club, and Curbside Traditional Jazz.

Now to Sept. 11 – Members of the Golden Palette Art Club currently have their work on display at The Art Room until Sept. 11. The gallery is located at 20-5725 Vedder Rd. and is open Mondays to Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
